A Dallas warehouse was struggling with an old air conditioning system that couldn't keep workers comfortable. The existing HVAC unit had failed, making it nearly impossible to maintain productive working conditions during the hot Texas summer. Big D Mechanical provided a complete warehouse cooling solution with a new 15-ton split system installation. Our team carefully positioned a new air handler at the back of the warehouse to maximize airflow distribution. We installed 15 feet of supply ductwork with properly sized grills to ensure even cooling throughout the space. Using crane equipment, we safely placed the new condenser unit on the warehouse roof. This rooftop placement saves valuable floor space while providing optimal system performance. Our technicians ran new refrigerant lines from the roof-mounted condenser down to the air handler inside. The installation included a new programmable thermostat with control wiring connecting to both the condenser and air handler. We also installed a proper drain line from the air handler to the city drainage system to handle condensation removal. Our team performed thorough testing to ensure reliable operation. This included nitrogen pressure testing of all refrigerant circuits and evacuating the sealed systems to manufacturer specifications. We programmed the Symbio control system for optimal efficiency and balanced the refrigerant charge with virgin R-410A. After completing the installation, we tested both cooling and heating functions to verify proper operation. The warehouse now maintains comfortable temperatures year-round, allowing workers to stay productive even during Dallas's extreme weather conditions.
